The scale/key sets the home pitch of the instrument. Playing with others? Match their key. For solo practice, choose the tone that feels natural to your breath.
440 Hz is the common modern concert standard. 432 Hz is preferred by some for a softer feel. Either can be right — pick what suits your practice and ensemble.
Keep the flute dry after playing, avoid extreme heat or moisture, and store it in a padded bag or case. Wipe gently; never soak bamboo.
Relax the shoulders, use steady airflow, and start with long tones. Short daily practice builds control faster than occasional long sessions.
Go custom for a specific scale, length, material, tuning, or engraving. Share requirements on the Custom Flutes page so we can confirm before you order.
